                     Choosing The Best Camcorder

Choosing the best camcorder for your online video ministry that’s simple to use and under $200 is possible now thanks to the Flip Camera and Kodak’s Zi8. It’s a camera that fits in with all ministry budgets.

If you have more funds, of course you can buy the larget High Definition cameras. But this series is for easy to begin video ministry tips.

I first learned how great the Flip camera is two years ago. It was so simple that my children grabbed it (age 10 years and 6 years old) and started to make their own videos. My  6 year old son grabbed one time when I was taking a nap. After singing some songs into the camera, he got the idea of playing a joke on and video me while taking a nap!

Forget the expensive big and heavy expensive cameras. I put mine back up in my closet now.

My favorite is the Kodak ZI8. I shoot most of my online video marketing shots with this camera now.

One reason why I like it so much is it has an external mic port. In addition the Zi8 includes electronic image stabilization delivering a very respectable video quality in High Definition or Standard Definition all under $200.

While this online video marketers and minister’s secret camera tool may not be perfect, it is still one of the best camera’s that you can easily use for your video campaigns.

One detail you need to be aware of when using this camera. All of these pocket camcorders may advertise as High Definition models, but they still can not compare to the true HD camcorders that have more superior lenses and sensors.

With that being said, the Flip and others do have a great image quality and the companies continue improve. The Kodak Zi8 is the first small camcorder to boast of a 1080p 30 p video campture and 5 megapixel still image capture.

If I am just uploading my videos to YourTube or Facebook, I still use the basic WVGA which doesn’t take as much memory card space and is easy to edit on my Mac Book.

I also carry a Flip Mino Camcorder for spontaneous video. I have learned a lesson though. This camcorder stays hidden in my purse away from my children’s hands!.

1) The POWER of video online. Recent studies by the Wharton School of Business for one, show that video boosts comprehension and retention by 50% over live presentations. Another study shows that video increases a viewers memory or recall of information shown to them by 50% over print material. Video is shown to convert a potential customer three times higher than printed material.

Ann Sieg just released her latest amazing E-Book called “The Atrraction Marketers Manifesto”, where she quotes some astounding statistics about the internet.

For one, she states, “People are starting to use the internet more than they watch tv..or even read the newspaper.”

She quotes a powerful fact from a recent Jupiter research report that found that more than 25% of the people they studied have cut back on watching TV…so they can spend more time on the internet.

“On top of that,” Ann writes, “18% of people in the study said they were reading newspapers less and getting more information on the internet instead.”

She concludes with the obvious fact, “Thanks to the internet, you can now get your message in front of more prospects than ever before in the history of the world.”

2) Passion

Video is one tool where people can really see your passion on what you enjoy. If you have passion about something, it usually means you know quite a bit about the subject. With video you can get that visual connection to create a lasting impression. You can connect emotionally, personally, showing forth your own integrity. You can’t fake passion. You build trust as you share your knowledge and passion.

3) Prepares

Video prepares your viewer to receive more from you. You can impact them giving them a call to action. You can blend your message and personality giving them a desire to want more from you.

For example, you could be a traveling evangelist sharing the Word with your video ministry. Someone could see you and think “Hey, I want him to come to my church and preach.”

One great example I point to often is my client and friend Rev. Harriet Bradley. She has a passion to share the Word and help people be healed emotionally from past abuse and pain. She has now incorporated video into her ministry marketing plan sharing the wisdom she has with her viewers. They in turn can see her, find her online at JustJesusTV or FaceBook, and ask her to do a weekend seminar.
